If a newborn baby is in acute need of medical care, a stressful transport to another hospital would not be necessary. In our neonatal intensive care unit, extremely premature babies and newborns with serious medical conditions, such as respiratory problems, major infections, or congenital malformations requiring surgery, can be treated.
