Klinikum Mutterhaus der Borromäerinnen Mitte
Our postpartum and newborn ward has the ambience of a “mother-child hotel”. This is a time that is especially important for you and your baby. We will make your stay with us as pleasant as possible.
Following delivery our midwives and nurses are available to assist you with breastfeeding problems, infant care, or any other questions you may have. On the postpartum ward you will be attended to by nurses as well as by our IBCLC breastfeeding specialist (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant).
A physical therapist will supervise the first exercises geared to returning the womb to its pre-pregnancy size. Nursing mothers can feed their babies in a room set aside for this purpose only. If you would like, your baby can stay with you in your room around-the-clock (rooming-in). If you want a rest, your baby is well taken care of by qualified staff in our newborn nursery. Guidance in baby massage is offered twice a week upon request in the newborn nursery.
