Klinikum Mutterhaus der Borromäerinnen Mitte
Radiotherapy, either alone or in combination with surgery and chemotherapy, is an important modality of cancer treatment.
The Department of Radiotherapy and Radio-Oncology and the Medical Service Center at the the Klinikum Mutterhaus offer the complete spectrum of modern radiotherapy and combined radio-chemotherapy of the highest standard. For this purpose state-of-the-art radiotherapy equipment is available.
We treat not only malignant but also benign tumor disorders as well as inflammatory and degenerative joint and connective tissue disorders.
Highly specialized modern techniques and individual radiotherapy planning enable us to administer a high radiation dose in the tumor while sparing the healthy tissue in the best possible way. Thus the chances of curing cancer can be considerably improved, and the side effects of the treatment can be markedly reduced.
The therapeutic strategies are determined in interdisciplinary tumor conferences in cooperation with the colleagues involved in the treatment from other departments of the Klinikum Mutterhaus and the surrounding hospitals as well as with the physicians in private practice.
Our patients are included as partners in the decisions regarding their treatment.
Whenever possible, radiotherapy is performed on an outpatient basis. If inpatient treatment becomes necessary, we offer on our ward competent medical treatment and dedicated nursing care, always putting the patient in the center of our efforts.
