Klinikum Mutterhaus der Borromäerinnen Mitte
In the Department Surgery 1 patients with disorders of the abdomen, thorax, and endocrine glands (such as thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal) are treated. Furthermore, accident victims and patients with joint and bone disorders are also treated. Through close cooperation with the other departments in our hospital we are able to optimally treat difficult and complex disorders.
The Surgery 1 in the Klinikum Mutterhaus fulfills the criteria for a top level specialty center according to the guidelines of the German Society for Surgery. The focus of the treatment, taking place in a total of three adult wards, a large outpatient clinic, and an emergency room, is on general surgery, thoracic and visceral surgery, tumor surgery, and trauma surgery.
Especially when treating tumors, it is essential that all diagnostic and therapeutic steps are optimally coordinated. The daily radiological-surgical conference and the weekly interdepartmental conference are a prerequisite. Moreover, the mandatory participation in continuing professional education for all doctors ensures that diagnostics and therapy are continuously maintained at the highest standard.
Surgery is teamwork – a good combination of experienced specialized surgeons and medical staff is in our department a matter of course.
